In “Bringing Up Bates” Episode 803, the Bates family held a family cook-off. Erin Paine entered her stuffed chicken dish. My mouth was watering just watching the episode! Stuffed chicken ingredients

  • 5 chicken breasts
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 1 large tomato
  • 1 block of Gruyere cheese
  • 1 summer squash
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 stick of butter
  • 3 TBSP flour
  • 1 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 chopped parsley
  • salt and pepper
  • Italian seasoning


  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Make sure the chicken is room temperature.
  • Slice all vegetables (except onion) and cheese in rounds and then halve them to create “half moons”Cut four slits in each chicken breast
  • Add two to three vegetable slices and one slice of cheese into each slit
  • Sprinkle all with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning
  • Bake for 20 minutes. Ensure meat has reached at least 165 degrees

Create cream sauce while chicken is baking

  • Melt butter in saucepan
  • Add garlic
  • Whisk in flour until paste forms
  • Add heavy whipping cream
  • Once heated, add Parmesan cheese and parsley
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
  • Drizzle over chicken when it has finished baking
